Frequently Asked Question

How Much Does a Metal Garage Actually Cost?
A metal garage typically costs between $6,000 and $25,000 for basic pre-engineered buildings and standard installation, depending on the size.
Metal Garage vs Traditional Garage: Which Should You Choose?
If you want a detached structure with a lower upfront cost, higher durability, and minimal maintenance, a metal garage is the better option. If you need an attached garage that seamlessly matches your home's aesthetic, traditional construction is preferred.
What's Included in a Metal Garage Kit?
Typically, your kit includes the structural steel framing, exterior metal wall and roof panels, a basic trim package, all necessary hardware (screws, nuts, and bolts), and detailed blueprints/assembly instructions. Our pricing includes installation as well.
How Long Does It Take to Install a Metal Garage?
Metal buildings are installed on-site in as little as one day and up to 3 days or more, provided the permits are already approved and the foundation is in place. Larger or more complex steel buildings can take up to 1 to 2 weeks weeks for completion.
Do You Need a Permit for a Metal Garage?
In most cases, you do need a building permit to construct a metal garage. Since garages are permanent structures, they are subject to local zoning laws and structural safety codes.
Are there situations where a building permit is not required?
Under the International Building Code (IBC), a one‑story detached accessory structure (e.g., a shed, tool storage, playhouse) does not need a permit if its floor area is 120 sq ft or less. In this case, a zoning premit may still be required.
